no, its how its meant to be. All folders in win 10 are read only simply since you should take permissions to utilize them, it doesn't affair. Are you being stopped?

I spent weeks trying to alter information technology, it wouldn't let me save any files into the folders, information technology was a permissions problem I solved creating a homegroup and PC stopped fighting me.

What folder is this?
Generally, if the OS designates it as read simply, you probably shouldn't be changing that.

Information technology applies to all of them, its but how win 10 works. Every folder is read just - accept a wait at whatsoever of their properties..

I have tried this before, when I outset got win 10 concluding year. The folders are read simply but it can be a permissions problem if you can't save to any of them.

I have tried this before, when I first got win 10 last year. The folders are read simply simply information technology can be a permissions problem if you tin can't save to any of them.

??? Every folder?
This is a binder, on the root of C, created Dec 3, when I did a full reinstall of this OS.

A file copied into that folder today, if fully editable.
One time inside that folder, Right click, New....create a new text fiel.

I'm non seeing:
1. The effect the OP is having
two. The overall 'read only' ness of "Every binder is read only"

Attributes: Read only?? its in your motion-picture show. I would think that is what he is trying to alter.

Maybe because your permissions are fine, it works for you lot (us)

He hasn't responded yet then don't know what his actual problem is :)

Attributes: Read just?? its in your flick. I would recall that is what he is trying to change.

Perhaps because your permissions are fine, it works for y'all (us)

He hasn't responded yet and so don't know what his actual problem is :)

Right.
I see that it specifically says: "Read-but (But applies to files in folder)"
Yet....that really does non mean what it says, considering the actual files in that folder are fully editable.

If 'every folder' in Windows 10 were "Read-merely", the Bone would non work.

Now...if this were some folder the Os created, it probably should not be messed with. For a reason.

if you accept a user whose permissions are wrong, then you tin can't relieve files into that folder as it says you don't have the correct access to do it. And then while a user with right permissions can do anything in most folders, the other person finds themselves locked out of basic folders like My Documents. I accept messed upwards folders on my PC from that very thing happening last yr. So I been through this before. Information technology wouldn't let Steam work equally i didn't accept access to My Documents.

I could create files just I couldn't salvage changes to them - that gets confusing when you take homework on PC and can't relieve any changes... i just used a USB drive for a few weeks as it didn't seem to employ to it.

It seemed tied to Onedrive as it had more access to my ain PC than I did, merely set up was to make a Homegroup. I don't know why, but information technology worked.
